Critical Medical Education & Training Incorporated is a state-of-the-art educational and training institution committed to providing the highest level of instruction available for a wide variety of medical disciplines. CMEs Training offers on-line classes and satellite facilities in the following cities: Tampa, Jacksonville, Panhandle and Gainesville with additional sites being added within the near future. In addition to the above facilities CMEs Training will provide instruction at medical institutions, fire training facilities and private businesses.
CMEs Training is approved by the American Heart Association, Florida Board of Nursing and Florida Department of Emergency Medicine to offer a wide variety of courses to fit almost any medical educational need.
CMEs Training instructors come to us with very diversified backgrounds within the medical and fire rescue community and have extensive experience educating medical professionals from a variety of disciplines. All are fully licensed and American Heart Association compliant, have attained a high level of respect professionally, many with twenty to over thirty years of experience in their respective disciplines and have received professional recognition and awards prior to becoming instructors at CMEs Training.

Ruth Sadlier was born and raised in Rochdale, England where she attended college and earned a degree in Hotel and Catering Management. Shortly after graduating she decided to travel throughout Europe before settling into a career. In 1983, after living in Greece for nearly three years, Ruth was given the opportunity to move to Florida and there she sought employment in the field of law enforcement. During her time of public service Ruth enjoyed working in all areas of communications, corrections, organized crime and in the evidence department where she worked to provide a higher level of customer service and satisfaction.
Twenty-seven years later, after earning degrees from Northwood University, Ruth felt was time for a career change and wanted to pursue her life-long dream of running a business all while continuing to provide customer service and satisfaction. She joined forces with Tom Banks and put together a business plan that would provide a source of continuing education to medical professionals. From this plan CMEs Training was born.
Thomas Banks-Vice President, Director of Education & Quality Assurance
Born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Tom decided on a career in the medical field in 1977 when he joined a local ambulance company to make money to support going to college. Thirty three years later, he retired from the Broward Sheriff's Office, Department of Fire Rescue to continue with his second passion, educating medical professionals and lay person in continuing medical education as it becomes available.
During his career Tom has been an assistant to a local dermatologist, EMT-P/FF and a Field Training Major and throughout this time continued to teach and hold positions in hospitals and private practice and as Director of Education and Quality Assurance for several reputable companies and maintain licenses through the American Heart Association as an ACLS, BLS, PALS Instructor and Training Center Faculty. An avid union member for IAFF Local 4321 for many years, Tom worked to improve standards and benefits while co-founding the member assistance program for all its members.
Tom continues to work diligently to provide quality continuing education through CMEs Training and strives to constantly challenge and raise the industry standard.
Nabil El Sanadi, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.E.P.
Dr. Nabil El Sanadi has practiced emergency medicine over 20 years. He graduated from Ohio State University with honors in medicine and public health. Following medical school, he completed a medicine residency and a one-year cardiology research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio. He obtained a master of business administration at the Weather Head School of Management in Cleveland, Ohio. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Since 1994, he has been a regular presenter at the American College of Emergency Physicians National Scientific Assembly.
Dr. El Sanadi has served as Chairman of The Strategic Planning International Committee for The American Heart Association's Inter-American Heart Foundation. He has served as a visiting professor at the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is a past-president of the Florida College of Emergency Physicians. Governor Bush appointed him to chair the state's Task Force on Domestic Violence from 1999 to 2001 and in 2002, Governor Bush appointed him to the Florida Board of Medicine. Dr. El Sanadi is a member of the Florida Medical Association Board of Governors and continues to serve by appointment on the Broward County Emergency Medical Services Council.
William McGrath, Director, EMS Discipline
William McGrath has been involved in the EMS field since 1993. He is currently employed as a Lieutenant/Paramedic and EMS training officer for a local fire department. Bill holds an Associate's Degree in EMS, a Bachelor's Degree in organizational leadership and a Master's degree in Executive Management. As an educator, he has served in the capacity of instructor, coordinator and director of various collegiate programs in EMS throughout the State of Florida. Bill presently holds instructor certificates in BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS and AMLS.
Collette Cattafi, Director, Nursing Discipline,
Collette Cattafi was born in New Jersey and raised in Southern California. In 1981 she relocated to Florida and entered a career in Law Enforcement earning a Corrections Degree from the State of Florida. After several years she decided to return to college and pursue her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse with an emphasis on medical education earning degrees in Nursing Science and Liberal Arts. During the last fifteen years Collette has worked at a local area hospital with the last nine being spent in the Emergency Room in addition to educating students and medical professionals in all American Heart Association and Nursing courses. Collette is currently pursuing an MBA and a Masters in Nursing Education and holds Instructor Certifications for many disciplines within the medical field.
