AHA Instructor Courses
Courses Overview
An AHA Instructor Course teaches the methods needed to effectively instruct others in resuscitation courses. The American Heart Association (AHA) requires that all instructor candidates be at least 16 years of age to be a HeartSaver/BLS instructor and be at least 18 years of age and be licensed or certified in a healthcare occupation.
AHA Core-Instructor
AHA guidelines require all instructor candidates to complete a Core- instructor course either on line or an instructor lead course. The AHA Core Instructor course is a required prerequisite for all new instructor candidates and for those adding another discipline to their teaching credentials.
ACLS/BLS/PALS Instructor Discipline Requirements
Once the Core-Instructor course is completed, the instructor candidate can register for the discipline they wish to teach.
